About Serra:

Praying for the Future of Our Catholic Church

While Serra is part of a worldwide organization, the heart of its mission is found within local clubs like ours. Working closely with our diocese and parish communities, we support vocations through prayer, fellowship, outreach, and a variety of programs that encourage men and women to listen for God's call. From vocation awareness initiatives and support for seminarians to events that honor clergy and engage young Catholics, our members are united by a shared commitment to strengthening the future of the Church.

Just as important as the work we do is the community we build together. Our Serra Club is a welcoming place where friendships grow, faith is deepened, and members encourage one another on their spiritual journey. Through prayer, service, and fellowship, we strive to live our faith more fully while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Our Patron

Saint Junípero Serra

Not only because of his place in American history as the founder of a chain of missions in Mexico and California, but also because of his life of priestly zeal and heroic virtue, Fr. Junípero Serra, OFM, was chosen as the patron of our apostolate. This gifted Franciscan friar had occupied the Duns Scotus chair of philosophy in Mallorca, Spain, until he felt the call to commit himself further to the service of Christ as a missionary in the New World.

Benefits of being a Serran

Through baptism all men and women are called to service. By being a Serran you are fulfilling a call to a world-wide prayer apostolate. You are doing what our Lord and the Catholic Church asks of you as an individual and with planned activities of your Serra Club.

You are part of a TEAM that provides prayer and tangible support to our Diocesan seminarians during challenging years of discernment as well as priests and sisters in their daily ministry.

Through various club activities, you have many opportunities to promote an atmosphere in your parish that facilitates family's openness to vocations.

You may be inspired to invite potential candidates to consider the priesthood or religious life.

You have the opportunity to grow in holiness by common prayer, attending Serra meetings and working together on Serra events.

You enhance your PERSONAL Catholic legacy which you leave for your children, grand children, and great grandchildren by promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Attend Our Next Meeting

We invite all prospective members and benefactors to attend our general meetings and experience our fellowship firsthand. Meetings begin with the Rosary at 5:30 PM, 6:00PM Mass, followed by dinner and fellowship. All are welcome.
